Our Programs
The Crossroads Center's Opioid Treatment Program is approved by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services to administer and dispense narcotic medications for either detoxification treatment or maintenance therapy to persons who have become addicted to narcotics. The program, when appropriate or necessary, also provides a comprehensive range of psychiatric and rehabilitative services.
We offer Programs and Services in the following areas:
- Alcohol and Drug assessment and treatment (outpatient and residential)
- Mental health assessment and treatment
- Adolescent substance abuse and mental health assessment and treatment (ages 12-17)
- Felony and misdemeanor residential mental Health court service (by referral)
- Medication assisted programs
Drug and Alcohol Assessments
An assessment is used to identify underlying substance abuse problems and/or mental illness to determine if treatment is necessary. The assessments will verify an individual’s drug use history, employment history, family history, home environment, personality, financial stability, and support system.Assessments are conducted by appointment only. For your admission, you must bring a photo ID or if you have no ID, a piece of business mail addressed to you and postmarked within the last thirty days.
Medication Assisted treatment programs
The Crossroads Center's Opioid Treatment Program is approved by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services to administer and dispense narcotic medications for either detoxification treatment or maintenance therapy to persons who have become addicted to narcotics. The program, when appropriate or necessary, also provides a comprehensive range of psychiatric and rehabilitative services.
Services provided through the program include, but are not limited to:
- A comprehensive evaluation of the patient's addiction, medical, psychiatric, social, employment, vocational, and rehabilitation status/needs. If the program is unable to provide these services, the patient will be referred to the appropriate institution where the services are fully and reasonably available.
- Physical examination and treatment services are provided at admission and annually thereafter.
- A psychiatric or dual diagnosis assessment will be provided at admission and annually thereafter.
- Individual and group counseling as determined through the development of individual treatment plans.

Residential treatment programs
The Crossroads Center offers two Residential Treatment Programs
The Crossroads Center’s Chaney Allen Women’s Continuum of Care Program is a safe haven for women living with substance abuse, providing services in a 24 Hour residential setting structured to provide a continuum of care.
The Adult Residential Care (ARC) Program is a co-ed residential program providing a wide continuum of services and support of the recovery process including Mental Health Court, Short term rehabilitation and Intensive Outpatient therapy.

Intensive Outpatient
Program (IOP)
Organized therapeutic services provided in a non-residential, outpatient setting. This treatment requires at least nine hours of group therapy each week. Group sessions are conducted in a professionally supervised program three days a week for three hours each day.

- Family Counseling
- Case Management
- Drug Screening Medical Somatic Services
- Crisis Intervention
- Prevention and Education

General Outpatient Services
Chemical dependency can be described as any repeated drinking or drug use that interferes with one or more areas of a person's life. Research and experience have indicated that not all chemically dependent individuals require residential treatment. Outpatient chemical dependency treatment is a viable, flexible modality of treatment.
Outpatient services allow a person to maintain work, school, and/or family schedules while receiving effective treatment. Sessions are usually one hour in length on a weekly basis but are specifically tailored to meet each client’s individual clinical needs.
There are two main areas of the outpatient program:
- S.T.O.P. (Substance Abuse Treatment Outpatient Program
- SAMI (Substance Abuse & Mental Illness Program)

Prevention
The Adolescent Prevention program is based on the premise that early intervention may prevent more serious social adjustment problems. Our program aims to prevent substance abuse, substance related disorders, and other behavioral problems that place families and children at risk. The prevention setting is at community sites.
Prevention activities include:
- Open ended prevention and education groups focusing on cognitive restructuring
- Prevention/intervention services for juvenile offenders
- Referral for additional services may occur

Adolescent Outpatient Treatment
The Crossroads Center's Adolescent Outpatient Program is designed to provide treatment to youth and their families. The program may utilize a community based approach which provides treatment in school or at the agency. Parental and family involvement is encouraged. The goal of this program is to decrease the active incidence of substance abuse while strengthening the family members functional and self-sufficient behavior.
Our program provides full treatment for individuals ages 12 - 17 who are suffering from alcohol and drug-related problem and other self-harming behaviors. The level of intensity and duration of treatment is designed to flow on a continuum based on specific patient characteristics.

Buprenorphine
The outpatient client is seen by a therapist weekly and must participate in 12 weekly group sessions. The client will see the doctor once a month and have lab tests completed weekly. The medication dosing and length of treatment is individualized to the client's needs.

- Addicted to Narcotics
- Medically able to tolerate treatment
- Substance abuse or dependency not requiring detoxification
Methadone
Opening in 2003 the Crossroads Opioid Treatment Program was the first new program that the State Ohio allowed to open after more than 24 yrs. The program is certified and licensed to administer and dispense narcotic medications to treat persons who have become addicted to narcotics. It is certified by; the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, The Ohio Board of Pharmacy, The Drug Enforcement Agency and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. The program is the only one in the region that provides on site a comprehensive range of psychiatric and rehabilitative services.
The Crossroads Opioid Treatment Program has received multiple grants for the treatment of opioid addiction and has participated in several clinical research projects. Our clinical staff have the highest level of licensing and experience in treating those who suffer from this illness.

Naltrexone
This non-addictive opiate blocker can be prescribed by Crossroads medical staff in any level of care.
